Busy Day in the Life of an Investigational Drug Service Pharmacist

I may be biased, but I think I have one of the coolest pharmacist jobs out there. As an investigational drug service pharmacist I get to see the latest medication advances before they even hit the market and have the opportunity to use my pharmacist knowledge in a unique way.

In this vlog, I'm taking you along on my first day back to work after a well-deserved break. I took nine relaxing days away from the investigational drug service pharmacy. No fancy vacations or big plans, just some quality time off. Work had been hectic before my vacation, and I knew the next month and a half will be even crazier. Hence, the need for a break from the pharmacy.

In this video, I'll share what went down during my time off and how I tacked the mountain of emails waiting for me when I returned. But don’t worry, the day doesn't end with emails. Nope! I have a close out monitor visit at a satellite pharmacy location for a study we have been conducting. We have to make sure everything adds up, and then it's time to dispose of the medication. It's a crucial process for medication research, and you'll get a sneak peek into how it all works.

But wait, there's more! The life of a pharmacist doesn’t just revolve around what happens during office hours. After work, I squeeze in a Zumba class at the gym, hit the grocery store for dinner ingredients, and even share a little book recommendation. Trust me, it's a day packed with information about being an IDS pharmacist and a touch of everyday life. Click the video above to watch now!
